Hi friends! Welcome to the penultimate post in my series about using signs of the zodiac as inspiration for character development. This is going to be the easiest one of all, because I am such an Aquarius. Let’s take a look at the typical Aquarius personality type!
Here are some good qualities of an Aquarius:
humanitarian
unconventional
innovative
idealistic
curious
imaginative
And here are some not-so-good qualities:
unpredictable
aloof
spacey
unrealistic
rebellious
prone to addictions
As a friend…
An Aquarius friend may seem detached at first, but in the long term, she’ll prove to be a faithful friend who exposes you to new ideas and adventures. She may connect with people in many walks of life through intellectual or humanitarian organizations.
As a lover…
An Aquarius partner or spouse will thrive on discussions about ideas and the future. In the bedroom, he might crave variety, and he’s up for trying just about anything.
As a parent…
She may not be the most attentive parent, and she might forget to pick her kids up from soccer practice on occasion. However, an Aquarius will encourage her children to learn and to express themselves.
As a villain…
An Aquarius villain may be an innovator and an eccentric who wants to save the human race… but he’s willing to go to terrible lengths to do it.
Here are some examples of humanitarian, unconventional, and unpredictable fictional characters!
Phoebe Buffay, Friends.
Valentine, the villain of Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Luna Lovegood, the Harry Potter series. (And her dad, for that matter.)
Vision, from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Do you have any other thoughts about typical Aquarians? Let me know in the comments. Happy writing!

Surprisingly, those traits seem true … I am an Aquarius 😉 Since you began writing about this, I got curious, so I am currently reading Marcha Fox’s Wobeda, which is sort of a beginner’s guide to astrology – it is fascinating.
Yay, a fellow Aquarian! It’s funny you mention that — I was never super into astrology before I started thinking about it in relation to character development, but doing this series got me a lot more interested in it. 🙂
I purchased Marcha’s book after reading 3 or 4 of your astrology/character blogs, and fictitious as sun signs and moon signs seem, there does seem to be something there. At very least, I can use this information for characters. BTW, Marcha’s degree is actually in Physics and she worked at NASA for decades, so I believe she was initially as skeptical of astrology as I was.
Annnnd this just went on my TBR list. 🙂
It is a fascinating little book.
I’ve been enjoying these posts, but it seems you missed one. I couldn’t find Taurus, which comes between Aries and Gemini. 🙂
Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you have for Pisces – that’s me! 🙂
Here’s Taurus! I need to do a master post at the end of the series with links to all of them, so they are easy to find.

Glad you like these — thanks for reading!
Aha! There it is! I should’ve known you were too smart to overlook it. 🙂 I see now that it doesn’t have the ‘astrology’ tag, so that’s why I couldn’t find it.
Oh yeah, I should fix that! I think I’ve been pretty inconsistent with the tagging actually.
So, you want a reality post? As one of these Aquarians, I see me in your traits. Both the good and the bad ones. I recall a couple of years back when the dates were changed, I am not sure I understand why that occurred, but I still fell in the ‘Safe’ Aquarius zone, so it was good!
I did not realize they ever changed the dates! But I am square in the middle of the new ones, at least (my birthday is Groundhog’s Day.)
Anyway, yeah, it’s really me too, the good and the bad! It’s pretty cool finding out who my fellow Aquarians are here 🙂
I have you by one day! Mine is the first, although…few people remember it and since that STUPID man Mr. bin Laden was such an idiot, my birthday sometimes falls on Super Bowl Sunday and I do NOT LIKE football.
Reblogged this on A Bundle of Cute.
