After my first post about personality types in astrology, a writer friend told me that she thought most romance heroes were either Aries or Scorpio. I felt like there was at least some truth to this, and maybe we can branch out a little more. Every zodiac sign is good inspiration for a leading man or woman, whatever you’re writing. Let’s talk about Taurus!
Here are some good qualities of a Taurus.
loyal
generous
reliable
wise
practical
sensual
And here are some not-so-good qualities.
self-indulgent
materialistic
procrastinating
jealous
inflexible
(I have to say that “materialistic” has an up side. Tauruses are better than average at making money, which can be awfully convenient.)
A Taurus protagonist may be the sane person in a situation or a world that’s pretty bananas. They may provide a perfect balance for a fiery or dreamy character, and in the end, they may break your heart with their loyalty.
If she’s in a work situation, she’ll get the job done, and she might even cover your shift, in a pinch. Occasionally she might put things off, or take an extra long lunch to get her nails done, but no matter: you can depend on her, year end and year out.
She’ll complain if you change the procedures, though. If she’s your boss, you’ll have a hell of a time getting her to do anything new.
As a romantic partner, Taurus will give you some pretty nice gifts that appeal to the senses. He’ll be a very thorough lover…he doesn’t mind taking his time, and he loves to touch and be touched. He might get a little possessive, and now and again, you might have to coax him out of his comfort zone.
A Taurus parent is patient with their kids, and feels very strongly about providing for them. Their kids may undervalue them and think they’re a little boring. The kids’ impractical decisions or career choices may be a real point of contention.
A Taurus villain may do terrible things in order to benefit his family in some way, or he may just be a greedy bastard. You can probably beat him by taking advantage of how predictable he is.

I’m a Taurus, and a lot of those describe me pretty well! Except maybe for wise and practical. Heh.
You are wise about the things that really matter 🙂
You had me at Rory Williams… I must admit, Dante is an Aries and Garrett is a Scorpio. I’m pretty sure Khel is a Taurus from this post, but he was born on a space station orbiting Sadr-4… *ponders other space-characters’ signs*
Rory Williams is perfection 🙂
I wasn’t thinking about zodiac signs and characters until recently, but when I was writing this, I felt pretty sure that David in Sole Possession was a Taurus.
I’m a Taurus too and am loving that I’m in the same boat as Ron 🙂
Hee hee. You’re in very good company!
Umm, Ron Weasley was born March 1, 1980. That makes him a Pisces….
Oh yeah, I’ve explained in a couple of the posts that this has nothing to do with when the characters were supposedly born. It’s just about personality types 🙂
I’m writing a story where for the first time i’m including dates of birth. The main character Aleya is Queen Bee but has desires for a boy in the enemy friend group “Princes.” I don’t know a lot about zodiacs but I thought it would be an idea to align the traits the zodiacs with the characters. If a taurus, spoiled but anxious girl feel in love with someone who she felt she couldn’t have incase she lost her friends, in what ways would she act? would she push him away when others are around? would she become clingy and desperate when it’s just them? and would she secretly get jealous when she see’s him wit others, even possibly making her jealously obvious on accident. what do you think?
